GNFA Board Members

Bruce Barham: Bruce Barham is blessed to serve as the Vice President of the Good News for Africa Board and has been a member of the Alexandria Presbyterian Church since 2009 where he has served in the mercy ministries of the church.

Eleanor Nagy: Eleanor Nagy is Treasurer of the Good News for Africa Board. She has been a member of the Alexandria Presbyterian Church since 2004 and considers it a privilege to serve alongside Didierand Sifa Balagizi in caring for the Good News for Africa children.

Jim Taft: Jim Taft spent his career addressing water pollution control and safe drinking water issues at the local, state, national, and international levels. He now enjoys quasi-retirement and supporting important causes, such as Good News for Africa and the ministries of his local church (Alexandria Presbyterian Church).

Juliana Richardson: Juliana has her Masters in Public Health and has worked in global health for nearly a decade, focusing on research, policy, international affairs, and diplomacy. She is passionate about sustainable health care delivery and is privileged to be part of the Good News for Africa Board.

Rich Nielsen: Rich Nielsen is a former Navy Officer and lawyer. He is currently a business owner in Alexandria, VA.

Didier Balagizi: Didier holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the DRC, where he worked for the petrochemical firm Ginki. He immigrated to the U.S. in 2012 and currently works for Alexandria (Virginia) Transit Company. He is earning an Associate’s Degree in Cyber Security from Northern Virginia Community College. Didier is also a pastoral intern and elder with Alexandria Presbyterian Church and directs the church’s international outreach ministry. Didier and his wife Sifa are proud parents of four young children.

Sifa Balagizi: Sifa has trained and served as a mid-wife, assisting women in all phases of natural child birth and as a certified nursing assistant in multiple settings, and is the mother of four young children.
Overseas Staff

David Bisimwa: David Bisimwa is a teacher at Complex Scolaire Le Merite where our children are attending school now. David tutors our children outside of school and provides pastoral care to our children six days a week.

Sayba Balagizi: Sayba Balagizi works full time for GNFA to provide executive oversight, coordination, and organization of all that is required for the care of our children.

Kalume Mayane Lebon: Kalume Mayane Lebon monitors and evaluates the performance of all GNFA staff in the DRC.

Amani Byamungu Abya: Amani Byamungu Abya serves GNFA handling a wide variety of logistical matters and technical support related to our in-country operations.

Rachel Mulamba Deborah: Rachel Mulamba Deborah works in the orphanage with 3 other women providing direct care to our children including cooking and cleaning the house.

Barhamuke Banywesize Dorcas: Barhamuke Banywesize Dorcas works in the orphanage with 3 other women providing direct care to our children including cooking and cleaning the house.

Atiya Kawaya Esther: Atiya Kawaya Esther works in the orphanage with 3 other women providing direct care to our children including cooking and cleaning the house.

Uwezo Mupenda Clarice: Uwezo Mupenda Clarice works in the orphanage with 3 other women providing direct care to our children including cooking and cleaning the house.

Alex Chiragarhula: Alex Chiragarhula works maintaining the gardens and the exterior of the property, as well as assisting our other staff in keeping the interior of the property clean.

Femi Adeniji: Femi is a Certified Public Accountant with over 27 years experience in the private sector, currently working as a Consultant. He has been a member of Alexandria Presbyterian Church since 1999 and has worked in the youth ministry as a Sunday School teacher and previously with a DC based Church ministry as a mentor to disadvantaged youths. His grandmother was the director of an orphanage so he considers it fitting to use his gifts in support of Good News for Africa.
